DARK STAR RECORDS RELEASES SOUNDTRACK TO SCI-FI/HORROR FILM ‘CARNIVORE?

The ?0s-inspired Original Motion Picture Soundtrack to the sci-fi/horror saga “Carnivore?has been released via the independent label Dark Star Records.

Featuring L.A. Guns, Nitro, and Holland, in addition to a host of other notable artists from and inspired by the same era, “Carnivore?is a necessary indulgence for enthusiasts of wild, guitar-driven ?0s music.

“We wanted the feel of the soundtrack to be as though you were listening to the stereo in your car cranked up on a wild hot summer night back in the ?0s,?said Jeffrey A. Swanson, President of Dark Star Records. “We carefully selected some of the better bands from an era that really was cool.?

The film’s soundtrack is an enhanced CD that also includes the official movie trailer, a preview of the video for the track “Mother Mary,?and the complete original orchestral score in Mp3 format.

“We wanted to give our consumers both a great rock album as well as an orchestral soundtrack on one CD,?said Kenneth Mader of Maderfilm. “All that music just would not fit, so we decided to put the entire score in the Mp3 format.?

“Carnivore?the movie is becoming an International Cult Classic with some quality kills, sex, and a ?0s low budget feel. The film has enjoyed success at the Cannes Film Festival and the American Film Market. Before its US release, “Carnivore?was a winner of the 1999 Communicator Awards for “Crystal Award of Excellence ?Editing?and “Award of Distinction ?Directing.?The film is distributed in the US by MTI Home Video and is available for rental at all Hollywood Video Stores and wherever DVDs are sold. It is also appearing on IN-DEMAND pay-per-view, where it has beat out “Blair Witch 2?for total views.
